Sunday Snippet – How Should You React?

Situations that are upsetting to us creep up all the time.  It’s life’s way of offering us lessons,  pushing us to raise our perspective and control what is often an over-reaction.

You’d think after 15 years of grasping this understanding, I would be an expert at controlling my reactions.  Ha!  I still find myself feeling upset and stewing.  But now it’s not as often, and I don’t stew for days.  Now I have some tools and I am able to discuss why a certain thing or situation has the potential of upsetting me.

I know that it takes 7 hours+ to reverse the chemical toxins released by negative emotions and thoughts.  That’s a long time to poison one’s body and ruin a perfectly lovely day… isn’t it?  And yet EGO has to express its dissatisfaction when things  don’t go as desired.

A good friend of mine, a healer, gifted me this beautiful tool not long ago.  It is so effective that I want to share it with you:

When something comes up that has the potential of upsetting you, take a moment.

Imagine two teacups: one a little old, not very pretty and full of a dark murky tea.  The other is a gorgeous, fine china cup with a happy floral pattern and full of golden light.

Which do you want to drink from?

dark cup_of_teapeacock cup

Do you choose the negative reaction, or the positive one?

Do you sip a murky tea that will probably give you a tummy ache that lasts all day, or do you choose to drink the cup of golden light and visualize the upsetness dissolving?

Fret not!

You can still correct the situation, or ponder a solution without the attached negative emotion.  Think how freeing it would be to have a calm, still, peaceful approach to life’s curve balls.

RESOLVE TO TRY THIS NEXT TIME YOU FEEL THAT OLD FAMILIAR SURGE OF ENERGY.

Top 7 Reasons Apple Cider Vinegar Should Be a Part of Your Diet

Most people in the U.S. associate Apple Cider Vinegar with “Dr. Bragg”, and that’s as it should be.  Dr. Paul Bragg has done more to promote and raise awareness of the numerous health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar over the past few decades than any other company or individual. I actually buy his Organic Apple Cider Vinegar by the Gallon!  I fill small jars to give to family members with a quick list of benefits.

Dr. Paul Bragg

Born around 1895, Bragg grew up in Washington, D.C. with his parents. In 1921 Bragg and his family, now also including two young daughters, moved to California, where Paul was employed by the YMCA. Around 1926, Paul left his job and became an entrepreneur in the health field, by opening  the “Health Center of Los Angeles” and then, in 1928, “Bragg Health Center”.

Crippled by TB as a teenager, Bragg developed his own deep breathing, water fasts, consumption of organic foods, drinking distilled water, juicing, and exercise to rebuild his body into an ageless, tireless, pain-free citadel of glowing good health.  He was the first to import Juicers to the US, and the first to introduce Pineapple juice to consumers.

Bragg was the inspiration and personal health and fitness advisor to top Olympic stars.  He lived to the age of 85.

Here is a WANT AD from his book on Apple Cider Vinegar that I thought was cute:

I love the flavor of Cider Vinegar. I pour a little over steamed greens, dip my fish filets in it, and love salad dressings the include this amazing food.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Bragg’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

According to Dr. Bragg and others here are …

 7 Reasons to Include Organic Apple Cider Vinegar in Your Diet:

       1. Apple Cider Vinegar is a great source of Potassium:

Potassium is to our soft tissue what Calcium is to our bones. Potassium is a mineral that has electrical properties when it dissolves in  the blood and so is classified as an electrolyte. It is critical to life as is required for the proper functioning of our cells, including the cells of the heart muscle.

Diets high in potassium may help to protect against hypertension, strokes, and cardiovascular disease.

Tell tale signs of Potassium Deficiency are:

  • Aches and pains in lower back, both muscle and bone
  • Dizziness when straighten up after leaning over
  • Dull morning headache upon rising
  • Hair feels dry and is unmanageable
  • Eyes itch and feel sore at times
  • Extreme loss of mental alertness, forgetting names or places that are on the tip of your tongue
  • Impatience and irritability
  • Nervousness, perhaps periods of depression
  • Insomnia
  • Insatiable Thirst
  • Chills
  • Hands and feet get cold, even in warm weather
  • High Cholesterol Levels
  • Glucose Intolerance
  • Impaired Growth
  • Edema
  • In extreme cases, cardiac arrest

2. Helping Your Body Get Rid of Toxins:

Apple Cider Vinegar helps cells move normal waste from our body. Toxins that are not flushed from the body lodge in the joints and organs.  This protective action of AC Vinegar is called “Acetolysis”.  Waste products are broken down, then made inert.  The organs responsible for eliminating waste are your kidneys, bowel, lungs, and skin… and sometimes they can use a little help.

HOW?  Add 2 tsp. AC Vinegar to 6 ounces of Tomato Juice, and drink between meals once or twice a day.

3.   Relieve Headaches: Headache

HOW?  Add equal parts water and AC Vinegar in a small pot.  Heat until it comes to a slow rolling boil. Remove the pot from stove and placing a towel over your head, lean over just until the fumes are tolerable but strong.  Inhale for about 60 – 80 breaths.

It may take up to 30 minutes of warming the mixture and inhaling to get rid of a Chronic headache.

4. Relieves Dandruff, Itchy Scalp and Dry Hair:

The Malic acid and powerful enzymes in AC Vinegar kill the germs responsible for many scalp and hair problems. These little germs clog our hair follicle openings causing scales.  The result is itching and dandruff.

HOW?  Pour 2 Tbs. of vinegar in a cup. Moisten a cotton ball with water and then soak it in the vinegar. Part your hair in sections and apply the solution directly to the scalp. Leave on for 15 – 30 minutes before shampooing.  This process restores proper pH balance to the scalp.  May need to repeat daily for acute cases.
For maintenance… after shampooing, add a little vinegar to water for the last hair rinse.

5. Relieve Muscle Soreness and Aching Joints:hot stone massage 1

HOW?  Soak in a warm bath to which 1-2 cups of AC Vinegar have been added. Massage your body while in the water starting with your feet.  Continue up the torso, gently squeezing each part, always moving towards the heart.  Start with hands and work up arms and neck, again rubbing towards the heart.

Include your face and scalp in the massage.

6.  Fight Mucus with AC Vinegar:

Many of us suffer from allergies that cause mucus to collect around our sinus cavities, nose and throat.  The irritating nasal drip can be halted with the aid of this miraculous substance.  First, you should discontinue consuming dairy products to decrease mucus.

HOW? Each morning when you rise, drink a glass of water with 1 tsp. local honey and 2 tsp. AC Vinegar mixed in. Sip slowly to get the most benefit.  Repeat sometime during the day. Also use Cider Vinegar in your salad dressings.

7. Younger Looking Skin:Female portrait 3

Washing our face with soap has an alkaline result on the skin, which is not something we want. You want to keep your skin in an acid state for healthy glow. Your skin is made up of protein, water and other minor chemicals. Proteins are very complex chains of amino acids and they are very sensitive to the level of pH surrounding them. When the skin’s proteins react with an acid in a low pH coagulation occurs. The acid destroys the existing tissues so that they can be replaced with new cells.

HOW? Wash your face with very warm water (no soap). Wet a hand towel in very warm water and hold it to your face for 3-4 minutes.  Then soak a wash cloth in a bowl of tepid water that has 3 Tbs. of Cider Vinegar per cup of water, and apply that to your skin. Cover with the hand towel that you have soaked again in very warm water and wrung out. Wait 5 minutes.

Rinse your face with warm water and rub briskly with a clean dry towel.  This will remove the dry skin loosened by the vinegar.

Wow! And that was only half the benefits that Apple Cider Vinegar is known for.

You May Have Anxiety Symptoms and Not Know It

I had to remove a post on Anxiety a couple of weeks ago, and promised to replace it with another more robust one that discusses ways to recognize and either deal with or remove the causes of this common condition.

Anxiety has negative effects on our overall health, not just our mental sense of well-being.  Avoiding people, situations or things that you cause you stress is important.  Doing a self-assessment, and realizing that some of your feelings or behaviors are actually stress or anxiety related is the first step to tackling this less than desirable condition.

I found the following article from the Mayo Clinic very helpful, and hope you will too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Generalized anxiety disorder
It’s normal to feel anxious from time to time, especially if your life is stressful. However, severe, ongoing anxiety that interferes with day-to-day activities may be a sign of generalized anxiety disorder.
By Mayo Clinic staff
As with many mental health conditions, what causes generalized anxiety disorder isn’t fully understood. It may involve naturally occurring brain chemicals (neurotransmitters), such as serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. It’s likely that the condition has several causes that may include genetics, your life experiences and stress.
Some physical health conditions are associated with anxiety. Examples include:
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
  • Heart disease
  • Hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism
  • MenopauseAnxious 5
Symptoms
Generalized anxiety disorder symptoms can vary. They can include:
  • Constant worrying or obsession about small or large concerns
  • Restlessness and feeling keyed up or on edge
  • Fatigue
  • Difficulty concentrating or your mind “going blank”
  • Irritability
  • Muscle tension or muscle aches
  • Trembling, feeling twitchy or being easily startled
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Sweating, nausea or diarrhea
  • Shortness of breath or rapid heartbeat
There may be times when your worries don’t completely consume you, but you still feel anxious even when there’s no apparent reason. For example, you may feel intense worry about your safety or that of your loved ones, or you may have a general sense that something bad is about to happen.
Symptoms in children and adolescents
In addition to the symptoms above, children and adolescents may have excessive worries about:
  • Performance at school or sporting events
  • Being on time (punctuality)
  • Earthquakes, nuclear war or other catastrophic events
A child with the disorder may also:
  • Feel overly anxious to fit in
  • Be a perfectionist
  • Lack confidence
  • Redo tasks because they aren’t perfect the first time
  • Strive for approval
  • Require a lot of reassurance about performance
When to see a doctor
Some anxiety is normal, but see your doctor if:
  • You feel like you’re worrying too much, and it’s interfering with your work, relationships or other parts of your life
  • You feel depressed, have trouble with drinking or drugs, or you have other mental health concerns along with anxiety
  • You have suicidal thoughts or behaviors — seek emergency treatment immediately
Your worries are unlikely to simply go away on their own, and they may actually get worse over time. Try to seek professional help before your anxiety becomes severe.
Risk factors
Things that may increase your risk of developing generalized anxiety disorder include:
  • Being female. More than twice as many women as men are diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder.
  • Childhood trauma. Children who endured abuse or trauma, including witnessing traumatic events, are at higher risk of developing generalized anxiety disorder at some point in life.
  • Illness. Having a chronic health condition or serious illness, such as cancer, can lead to constant worry about the future, your treatment and your finances.
  • Stress. A big event or a number of smaller stressful life situations may trigger excessive anxiety.
  • Personality. People with some personality types are more prone to anxiety disorders than are others. In addition, some personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder, also may be linked to generalized anxiety disorder.
  • Genetics. Generalized anxiety disorder may run in families.
  • Substance abuse. Drug or alcohol abuse can worsen generalized anxiety disorder. Caffeine and nicotine also may increase anxiety.
Generalized anxiety disorder does more than just make you worry. It can also lead to, or worsen, other mental and physical health conditions, including:
  • DepressionWhite knuckles
  • Substance abuse
  • Trouble sleeping (insomnia)
  • Digestive or bowel problems
  • Headaches
  • Teeth grinding (bruxism)
  • Substance use disorders
Lifestyle and home remedies
While most people with generalized anxiety disorder need psychotherapy or medications to get anxiety under control, lifestyle changes also can make a difference. Here are a few things that you can do:
  • Get daily exercise. Exercise is a powerful stress reducer, can improve your mood and can keep you healthy. It’s best if you develop a regular routine and work out most days of the week. Start out slow and gradually increase the amount and intensity of exercise.
  • Eat a healthy diet. Avoid fatty, sugary and processed foods. Include foods in your diet that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and B vitamins.
  • Avoid alcohol and other sedatives. These can worsen anxiety.
  • Use relaxation techniques. Visualization techniques, meditation and yoga are examples of relaxation techniques that can ease anxiety.
  • Make sleep a priority. Do what you can to make sure you’re getting enough quality sleep. If you aren’t sleeping well, see your doctor.
Tonight’s Unexpected Snafu – An Article on Anxiety Brings the Very Same!
It took practically an hour for me to be able to breathe deeply and freely again… an hour after simply reading the first few lines of a reply to an email I proactively sent to ensure approval of my re-posting an article I thought would be helpful to my followers… giving full credit to the author.  I initiated the email in a spirit of full disclosure, honesty and openness, expecting the usual courteous reply, thanking me for my interest and for giving proper credit.
The reply I received from the author in Canada floored me! I read two sentences and that was all I needed before I promptly deleted the Post on Anxiety and Ways to Cope.  I would never promote the work of someone who carried such wrath to begin with.
Before taking the time to evaluate this blog, its intentions and audience, and the fact that I did not mess with the content, nor hide the source, he felt justified in hastily typing a blasting email that left me knotted up for a full 60 minutes!  Wow.. I couldn’t focus enough to talk to my teenager when he said goodnight.
As I mentioned, the article was on Anxiety .. he had some good tips, nothing earth-shattering.. all available from a dozen sources, but he vehemently objected to my sharing it and demanded I take it down, which I did within minutes!  The humorous part is that his own words were perfect examples of what creates Anxiety in others.
I doubt he took the time to check if there was a live link to his site, which was the major reason for his over-reaction I believe.  I don’t know because I did not allow myself to read the full email.
I’m telling you this to demonstrate what we do to one another.
We bumble through life fiercely protecting what’s “ours” at any cost… heedlessly leaving victims of our strong ego-based attachments and harsh words.  If a stranger can write words that convey such negative energy to floor a person half way across the continent, what can someone a few feet from you do?
Learn to protect yourself from such outbursts.  The damage they do is real. It is an unconscious person who doles out such red-laced energy.  Sentiments can be conveyed with kindness, with understanding or with ego-satisfying indignity and ignorance.  Hold such people as far from you as you can.  Surround yourself with positive, grounded and kind people.
I will write an article on Anxiety at a later time.  I will share my own experience, and will draw on the knowledge of friends who professionally help others learn to cope and overcome this condition.
Stay happy and stay aware.
How Exercise Improved My Ability to Cope With Panic Attacks
There are many triggers to body reactions that we are barely aware of.  Twenty three years ago, I had my first panic attack around 4:30am. It freaked me out.  My heart was beating fast, I felt a little light-headed, and jumped out of bed to the bathroom where my Ex was showering before going to work.
He thought I was hyperventilating, and told me to breathe into a paper bag.  We wound up dropping my 3-year-old at Mom and Dad’s and going to the ER.  All tests were normal, thank God, but they put me on a Beta-blocker for the next few weeks to control my tachycardia.
During the next 10 years I would have those attacks, but not as severe as the first one.  They happened mostly in the middle of the night, and I learned to cope.  I would take a crossword puzzle to the bathroom, first splash my face with ice-cold water, which brings your heart rate down… then sit doing crosswords for 20 minutes until I calmed down and could go back to bed.
It became a routine 3 nights a week for a year or so.  Then they went away, and when I did have them they were during the day, and once or twice more over the next 4 years I went to the ER.
I decided to go on a beta blocker permanently, since I just didn’t want to deal with the racing heart any more. I didn’t exercise regularly back then, and may have done myself a favor by doing so!
Below is an article on this topic written by my guest, Ryan Rivera; an avid jogger who promotes fitness as a cure for anxiety and panic attacks. He provides information on additional coping strategies at www.calmclinic.com.
~*~*~*~*~
How Exercise Improved My Ability to Cope With Panic Attacks
Ever since I was young I had to deal with panic attacks. For those that have never experienced a panic attack, it’s one of the most unique – and frightening – both physical and non-physical experiences that one can have. Panic attacks, in many ways, mimic heart attacks. You feel weak, light headed, confused, fearful, and your heart beat feels wither fast or irregular. Yet unlike heart attacks, panic attacks are not a physical health condition. They’re caused by a combination of regular anxiety and over-sensitivity to your own body’s physical responses, and often panic attacks are self-sustaining, in that the fear of getting a panic attack can actually cause a panic attack!
As someone who experienced panic attacks almost daily, I needed to find a way to cope. It was getting to be too much to handle, to the point where I was afraid to go outdoors. While I knew some relaxation exercises that worked well, they were not providing me with enough relief. That’s when I decided to take up jogging.
Benefits of Jogging for Panic Attacks
I’ll admit it – fitness was not a priority. When you suffer from panic attacks the thought of experiencing a panic attack on a hike or at a gym is somewhat frightening. Nevertheless, I could have done more to improve my own physical health. So, one day I decided it was time to start jogging.3 men jogging
Very quickly I realized I was having fewer panic attacks. I realized that jogging just for a little bit each day was giving me the relief I hoped for. That’s because there are many ways that jogging works as a coping strategy for panic attacks. These include:
•             Effects of Moderate Exercise on Anxiety
First and foremost, numerous studies have shown that exercise is an effective strategy for dealing with mild to moderate anxiety, possibly even severe anxiety. Exercise releases endorphins (feel good neurotransmitters), and destroys cortisol (stress hormones), both of which are excellent methods of relieving some anxiety. With less anxiety, I was less sensitive to my body’s changes and experienced less stress over the idea of getting a panic attack.
•             Reduced Energy/Better Sleep
Similarly, jogging – while it made me more energetic on the whole –also burns away excess energy, as well as helps one sleep. Both are important ways of reducing the severity of panic attacks, which are often more severe when I’m either sleep deprived or filled with extra energy. I did still suffer from a few panic attacks, but I could tell they were less severe.
•             Improved Health
Let’s be clear – panic attacks are not a health problem. They feel like a health problem, which is why so many people end up in the hospital after experiencing their panic attacks, but there is no underlying physical cause. There’s nothing that can be cured in order to prevent panic attacks, and they’re triggered solely by your own mind. If you experience this for the first time, it’s obviously important to get checked out to rule out a serious health condition.
That said, the fear that something may be wrong with you coupled with natural life experiences when you’re out of shape can actually trigger more panic attacks or make your panic attacks worse. When I first started getting panic attacks, I often worried that something was wrong with my heart. There wasn’t, but that worry still caused me to fear for my own health. The mind is powerful, and can convince the body that something is wrong. So controlling your mind’s tendency to fear the worse is one of your main challenges.
Jogging is an extremely healthy activity. The more I jogged, the healthier I knew I was, and  the less I worried about my heart and lung health. Without that worry, my panic attacks reduced dramatically.
Curing Panic Attacks
Not even jogging can cure panic attacks on its own. You need to deal with your anxiety symptoms, learn what panic attacks mean, and learn other coping strategies to make panic attacks less severe. But jogging played a key role in my ability to cope with panic attacks, and I recommend it for anyone that finds they are struggling with this mentally induced condition.
Jogging was right for me, but for those who are unable to jog for any reason, I’m confident any outdoor exercise that gets your heart rate up and exposes you to fresh air, will work. Expending stress and energy is the goal, while getting in shape and clearing the mind.
Who is in Your Driver’s Seat?
I have felt immediately devastated in the past, after letting a word slip out in anger, or sending a meaningful look of disapproval someone’s way. Just a split second before, I could have engaged my higher knowing and censored myself, but it’s so easy to act on impulse, and think later.
It is our natural mode… auto-pilot… and the pilot is our Ego.
It’s not supposed to be easy to think before we act, it’s supposed to take concerted effort and great control… since one of our tasks while we are here on Earth is to tame our sense of ‘me’ and ‘I’, in order to focus more on the ‘You’.
Hazrat Inayat Khan said,
We frequently say, ‘I dislike him,’ ‘I wish to avoid her,’ but if we examine this carefully, we find it is the same element in all that we dislike, the ego. And when we turn to ourselves to see if we have it in us, we find it is there too. We should forget it, therefore, in other people, and first turn our attention to crushing it within ourselves.
We should determine to have our house clean even if other people neglect theirs. We should be careful to take away from ourselves any thorns that prick us in the personality of others .. The mystics fast (to crush) the ego.
In order to awaken love and sympathy in our hearts, sacrifices must be made. We must forget our own troubles in order to sympathize with the troubles of others. To relieve the hunger of others we must forget our own hunger.
Everybody is working for selfish ends, not caring about others, and this alone has brought about the misery in the world today. When the world is evolving from imperfection towards perfection, it needs all love and sympathy. Great tenderness and watchfulness is required of each one of us.
The heart of every man, both good and bad, is the abode of God, and care should be taken never to wound anybody by word or act. We are only here in this world for a short time; many have been here before, and have passed on, and it is for us to see that we leave behind an impression of good.
We cannot help believing the words of Buddha, ‘The essence of all religion is harmlessness‘. Harmlessness does not mean refraining from killing: one can kill many without killing. In order to kill a person one does not need to murder him; a glance, a word, a thought can kill a person, and that is worse torture than death.
It is this experience that will make us say, ‘My very feet, be conscientious lest you tread on the thorns lying on your path, lest they complain: You have crushed me’.
There is no end to consideration once a person begins applying this principle. If there is any religion it is in having consideration for everyone: earnestly to consider what feeling can be touched by a moment’s mistake.
If there is any abode of God it is in the heart of man. If the heart is touched wrongly it has an effect upon destiny, and we do not know to what extent.”
An Incredible Story That Has Much to Teach
Let me introduce the subject of this post to you. She is woman named Anita Moorjani.  I also want to tell you that a personal friend who was very ill had a similar experience.  He was pronounced ‘clinically dead’, crossed over into a place of light and peace, and realized he wasn’t ready yet… he’d forgotten to do something he vowed to do before dying.  With that thought, his pulse returned and he lived for a number of years in good health.
Anita was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and doctors told her family she was just hours away from death. It was at this point that she “crossed over” and then returned again into this world with a clearer understanding of her life and purpose on earth. This understanding subsequently led to a total recovery of her health.
Anita was born in Singapore of Indian parents, moved to Hong Kong at the age of two, and has lived in Hong Kong most of her life. Because of her background and British education, she is multi lingual and, from the age of two, grew up speaking English, Cantonese and two Indian dialects simultaneously, and later learned French at school.
She had been working in the corporate field for many years before being diagnosed with cancer in April of 2002. Her fascinating and moving near-death experience in early 2006 has tremendously changed her perspective on life. Her work is now ingrained with the depths and insights she gained while in the other realm.
This is the original NDE description that Anita Moorjani submitted to The Near Death Research Foundation in August 2006. The owner of the site, Dr. Jeffrey Long, an oncologist, contacted Anita within hours of her submitting it, asking follow-up questions, which are below the experience description. Shortly after, this story went viral, spreading to hundreds of thousands of people all over the world via email.
http://anitamoorjani.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Web3.jpg
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
I had end stage cancer (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma), and was being cared for at home. I was connected to an oxygen tank, and had a full time nurse. But on this morning, February 2nd 2006, I did not wake up. I had fallen into a coma.  My husband called my doctor who said I needed to be rushed to hospital.  The senior oncologist looked at me and told my husband that it was now the end, and that my organs were now shutting down.  I would probably not make it beyond the next 36 hours.  However, the oncologist said he would do whatever he could but prepared my husband that I would most likely not make it, as my organs were no longer functioning.  They determined this because my body started to swell up, and I had open skin lesions. They started me on a cocktail of medication on a drip, and poked me with tubes and pipes for nourishment, drugs and oxygen.
I thought that I was drifting in and out of consciousness during this time, because I was aware of everything that was going on around me. But it was confirmed to me later by my family and the doctors that I was in a coma the whole time. I saw and heard the conversations between my husband and the doctors taking place outside my room, about 40 feet away down a hallway. I was later able to verify this conversation to my shocked husband.  Then I actually “crossed over” to another dimension, where I was engulfed in a total feeling of love.  I also experienced extreme clarity of why I had the cancer, why I had come into this life in the first place, what role everyone in my family played in my life in the grand scheme of things, and generally how life works.  The clarity and understanding I obtained in this state is almost indescribable.  Words seem to limit the experience – I was at a place where I understood how much more there is than what we are able to conceive in our 3-dimensional world.  I realized what a gift life was, and that I was surrounded by loving spiritual beings, who were always around me even when I did not know it.
The amount of love I felt was overwhelming, and from this perspective, I knew how powerful I am, and saw the amazing possibilities we as humans are capable of achieving during a physical life.  I found out that my purpose now would be to live “heaven on earth” using this new understanding, and to share this knowledge with other people.  However I had the choice of whether to come back into life, or go towards death.  I was made to understand that it was not my time, but I always had the choice, and if I chose death, I would not be experiencing a lot of the gifts that the rest of my life still held in store.  At first, I did not want to come back, because my body was very sick, and I did not want to come back into this body as the organs had already stopped functioning and I had all these open skin lesions. But it seemed that almost immediately, I became aware that if I chose life, my body would heal very quickly.  I would see a difference in not months or weeks, but days!
I then started to understand how illnesses start on an energetic level before they become physical.  If I chose to go into life, the cancer would be gone from my energy, and my physical body would catch up very quickly.  I then understood that when people have medical treatments for illnesses, it rids the illness only from their body but not from their energy so the illness returns.  I realized if I went back, it would be with a very healthy energy.  Then the physical body would catch up to the energetic conditions very quickly and permanently.  I seemed to become aware that this applies to anything, not only illnesses – physical conditions, psychological conditions, etc.  I became aware that everything going on in our lives was dependent on this energy around us, created by us.  Nothing was real – we created our surroundings, our conditions, etc. depending where this “energy” was at.  The clarity I felt around how we get what we do was phenomenal!  It’s all about where we are energetically.  I somehow knew that I was going to see “proof” of this first hand if I returned back to my body.
It felt as though I was drifting in and out between the two worlds, this physical world and the other side, but every time I drifted into the “other side”, I seemed to go deeper and experienced more “scenes”.  There was one where I saw how my life had touched all the people in it – it was sort of like a tapestry and I saw how I affected everyone’s lives around me.  There was another scene where I saw my brother on a plane, having heard the news I was dying, coming to see me (this was verified to me as when I started to come round, my brother was there, having just got off a plane).  I then saw a glimpse of my brother and me and somehow seemed to understand it was a previous life, where I was much older than him and was like a mother to him (in this life, he is older than me).  I saw in that life I was very protective towards him.  I suddenly became aware he was on the plane to come and see me, and felt “I can’t do this to him – can’t let him come and see me dead”.  Then I also saw how my husband’s purpose was linked to mine, and how we had decided to come and experience this life together.  If I went, he would probably follow soon after.
In addition, I seemed to understand that, as tests had been taken for my organ functions (and the results were not out yet), that if I chose life, the results would show that my organs were functioning normally.  If I chose death, the results would show organ failure as the cause of death, due to cancer.  I was able to change the outcome of the tests by my choice!
I made my choice, and as I started to wake up (in a very confused state, as I could not at that time tell which side of the veil I was on),  the doctors came rushing into the room with big smiles on their faces saying to my family “Good news – we got the results and her organs are functioning – we can’t believe it!!  Her body really did seem like it had shut down!”
After that, I began to recover rapidly.  The doctors had been waiting for me to become stable before doing a lymph node biopsy to track the type of cancer cells, and they could not even find a lymph node big enough to suggest cancer (upon entering the hospital my body was filled with swollen lymph nodes and tumors the size of lemons, from the base of my skull all the way to my lower abdomen).  They did a bone marrow biopsy, again to find the cancer activity so they could adjust the chemotherapy according to the disease, and there wasn’t any in the bone marrow.  The doctors were very confused, but put it down to me suddenly responding to the chemo. Because they themselves were unable to understand what was going on, they made me undergo test after test, all of which I passed with flying colors, and clearing every test empowered me even more!  I had a full body scan, and because they could not find anything, they made the radiologist repeat it again!!!!
Because of my experience, I am now sharing with everyone I know that miracles are possible in your life every day.  After what I have seen, I realize that absolutely anything is possible, and that we did not come here to suffer.  Life is supposed to be great, and we are very, very loved.  The way I look at life has changed dramatically, and I am so glad to have been given a second chance to experience “heaven on earth”.
You Create Your World Every Moment
I wish there was a fool-proof formula we could all follow to move ‘out’ of ourselves, to float above this vehicle we call our body, and observe ourselves act and react to mundane, fleeting, mostly unimportant events in our life. To see how we take things far too seriously, including ourselves!
I wish we could REALLY see, FIERCELY believe, that it is the programming of our minds that creates chaos and negativity or hinders peace and happiness in our lives.  And that if we spend just a handful of weeks working consciously to change our reactions and attitudes, we can intentionally generate a new program.
I wish we listened, quietly, with inner stillness to what others are ‘saying’ before we allowed our ever-churning brain to start preparing our response to justify what ‘we’ think.
I wish I could help you understand without a shadow of doubt that you house in your heart Divine Light that is clouded over by falsely thinking that you are separate from the Universe, from all Humanity and from Truth.  And that if you sat quietly for just 10 – 15 minutes each day, and let go of everything during those minutes, focusing on ‘seeing’ the Light flickering in your heart, and imagining it growing until if filled your being, after a while your perspective, your attitude and your knowing will be informed by that Light and life will begin to change.
What is going on with this body, in this life is a Gift intricately planned to present us with situations designed to help us learn specific lessons, (if we allow them to).  These lessons invariably expand our understanding of Who we are, Where we are going and Why it’s necessary to cultivate Acceptance and Awareness.
Without a positive attitude and strong faith in the power of our mind, we can’t heal.  Negativity changes your body chemistry, physically.  It takes hours to neutralize the toxins that negativity releases in your body. That alone should deter you from giving in to such a response. Stop, breathe and consciously choose a reaction before you say or do something you’ll regret.
It’s not easy, but practice is the only way to make it a habit.
No one is going to walk into your life and make everything better. You have to do that.
This moment is all you have.  How do you want to spend it?
Unhappy?  Fearful?  Worried?  Frustrated?  Bitter?
How about choosing to be
Happy,  Brave, Trusting, Accepting, and Grateful?
Vow to live your life as if today is the all you have…this moment the only moment. Join the abundant Joy that resonates in every aspect of Creation, and don’t let anyone shake your determination to feel good.
Excerpt taken from The HuMan Handbook
“Change is what happens when the pain of holding on becomes greater than your fear of letting go. You are using up enormous amounts of life force energy holding on to your pain and past.
Change your habits and you will quickly change your life. It only takes three weeks to “birth” a new habit. The Universe …will express anything you make into a habit.
You are the architect of the reality that you are experiencing. Forming new habits is how you will manifest what you want. Creating habits is the key to your success or failure.
Consciously creating new habits for more than 21 days is a small price to pay for what you want to manifest.”
“When things change only two things can happen with one being obvious and the other being extremely subtle. The obvious thing is that you will manifest what it is that you want to experience. The not so obvious thing is that you will surface what it is you need to heal, so that you can manifest what you want.”
