Potions: Beauty Primer: DIY Recipes

For you do-it-yourselfers, here are some wonderful how-to’s for a hydrating mask, a toothpaste and lovely bath soak!

Now for the fun part. Add to your beauty potion arsenal this cache of easy, low-ingredient recipes for beauty potions that will give you physical beauty boosts.

The first concoction is useful as a base for many other beauty potion products. Homemade Non-Petroleum Jelly. You’ve heard the spiel “you are what you eat…” well, this is true for what you put on your skin too! Remember, everything that goes on your skin is being absorbed by it, so stay away from junk and chemicals. If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on.

Homemade Non-Petroleum Jelly

(aka DIY “Vaseline”)

1/8 cup grated beeswax (about 1 ounce)
1/2 cup olive oil

Combine beeswax and oil in a small saucepan. Melt over very low heat or in the top of a double boiler.  Pour into a jar to cool.
